Compassion Pathways of the Chelys Song
About this blog
Practicing compassion is life enhancing. If you are considering exploring compassion, you are in the right place. I hope you will gain some benefit here. I look forward to your comments and contributions as we explore together.
“Compassion Pathways of the Chely Song” explores compassion for personal development. This blog employs sources from a variety of traditions and perspectives.
Most sites covering compassion do so from one of three different perspectives. Those are Buddhist/eastern philosophy and spiritual practice, Christian, or secular/scientific. Often authors blend information from different sources while anchored in one approach.
This blog’s main approach differs from those three. It explores compassion from a pagan perspective. Paganism is a huge umbrella of varied traditions and practices. Of those, this blog is anchored by the Greek or Hellenic pagan mindset, such as the chelys evokes. Other sources are used, such as from the modern scientific community as well.
Further, Hellenic paganism has varied beliefs within its own small umbrella. Affinities here are loosely Pythagorean. They stem from a devotional practice within a pantheonic perspective. Also, any suggestions would be revivalist in naturenot reconstructive.
About the author - Kalen Cap
I am a writer living in northern Ohio. While I’ve mainly published fiction, I have written on personal development as well. Usually, such writing has covered wellness topics, including exercise or needed rest.
I’m not the most compassionate guy around. My take on that is - what I lack, the universe may provide. In my view, the universe includes greater beings. They have more capacity for ability to respond with compassionate action than I do. Still, being on a path of compassion, I hope to make progress in that regard.
To the journey - cheers.
