Guided Meditation to "Fount of Compassion"

Wrote a guided meditation to a "Fount of Compassion." For those that would like to listen to it, the (still photo with audio file) video of it is on youtube here

The basic script for it follows -

Get comfortable

Whether you sit or lie down

Take a moment and

Let yourself relax

Focus on your body

Breathe in, Breathe 0ut,

Tilt your head to one side

And back

Tilt your head to the other side

And back

Breathe in, Breathe out,

Shrug your shoulders

And shrug them again

Turn your torso to look left

And hold

Return to center

Turn your torso to look right

And hold

Return to center again

Breathe in, Breathe out,

Always return to your breath

Rock gently from side to side

Feel the movement of your hips

Return to center and rest

Tighten you leg muscles and hold

And release

Breathe in, Breathe out,

Wiggle your toes

Relax and close your eyes

Be in your body

Breathe in, Breathe out,

Feel yourself growing lighter

And growing lighter still

Growing lighter than air

You are floating, allow it

Breathe in, Breathe out

Floating, you drift forward

You are traveling

To a spiritual place

You’re floating along

And floating

Breathe in, Breathe out

Look ahead and see two mountains

You float toward those mountains

Closer and closer

You begin to descend down

Down to the ground

And land in front of the mountains

Feel your body again

Gravity is gaining hold

You regain your weighted form

Breathe in, Breathe out,

On ground, you see a path between

The two mountain faces

Now look down the path

The two mountain faces

Gleam with specks of silver

Lightly illuminating the way

Breathe in, Breathe out

Step forward onto the path

Continue walking along it

Looking ahead, you see two pillars

They border two open doors

Continue toward the doorway

You get closer and closer

You arrive at the open doorway

Breathe in, Breathe out,

The entrance is bright

You walk through the doorway

And you see steps down

A garden is down below

You descend the steps

You continue down and

You reach the bottom

Breathe in, Breathe out

You take a step forward

The garden around you is pleasant

You see butterflies and bees

Hear the birds singing lightly

You see a trail to the right

The trail meanders toward a fountain

You walk along the trail

Enjoy the greenery around you

You continue toward the fountain

With a clear view of it you see

The fountain is made of stone

Breathe in, Breathe out

An olive tree looms behind the fountain

The tree hangs over and above

The back of the fountain

So the water there

Is half in sunshine

Half in shadow

You step up to the fountain

And see a name etched in stone

Eleos,

Eleos is the deity

Of mercy and pity

Of compassion

And of kindliness

Breathe In, Breathe out

While the sun gleams high in the sky

Another light shines

And hovers above the tree

Eleos greets you with that light

You return a waved greeting

Breathe In, Breathe out

The fountain water beckons you

You walk into the fountain

The water there is waist deep

The warm water invites you

Allow yourself to stretch back

And float in the water

Breathe In, Breathe out

The water supports you

The fount of Eleos

Holds the waters of

Compassion

Mercy and Pity

Kindliness

Breathe In, Breathe out

Now if you like,

Allow yourself to feel

Compassion for your self

Take a moment to

Hold Yourself in Compassion

Hold

(music for quarter-minute)

Breathe in, Breathe out

Now if you like,

Allow yourself to feel

Compassion for your friends

Take a moment to

Hold Your Friends in Compassion

Hold

(music for quarter-minute)

Breathe in, Breathe out

Now if you like

Allow yourself to feel

Compassion for all strangers

Take a moment to

Hold all strangers in Compassion

Hold

(music for quarter-minute)

Breathe in, Breathe out

Now If you like,

Allow yourself to feel

Compassion for everyone

Whether friend or foe

Take a longer moment to

Hold Everyone in Compassion

Hold

(music for half-minute)

Breathe in, Breathe out

Again Allow yourself to feel

Compassion for yourself

Take a longer moment to

Hold Yourself in Compassion

Hold

(music for half-minute)

Breathe in, Breathe out

Now if you like

Give thanks for compassion

Take a moment to

Hold thanks in your heart

Hold

(music for quarter-minute)

Compassion is with you

Now you stand up in the water

Breathe in, Breathe out

You step out of the fountain

Knowing you may return again

Before you the garden sits

You take its path back

Back to the steps

You go up the steps

And through the doorway

See the pillars on either side

Breathe in, Breathe out

The path between the mountains

Beckons you forward

You move along the path

And continue on

You reach beyond the mountains

Where you first landed

Again, you grow lighter

And lighter still

Breathe in, Breathe out

You float and go back to

Where the journey began

You reach your starting place

Breathe in, Breathe out

Gravity takes hold

You regain your weighted form

Breathe in, Breathe out

Wiggle Your toes

Relax

Tighten you leg muscles and hold

And Release

Rock gently on your hips

From side to side

Return to center and rest

Breathe in, Breathe out

Turn your torso to the right

Return to center

Turn your torso now to the left

Return to center

Shrug your shoulders

And shrug them again

Breathe in, Breathe Out,

Tilt your head to one side

Tilt your head to the other side

And back to center

And now the eyes

Blink them open twice

Close and open again

Breathe in Breathe out,

You are fully back in your body

Lightly shake it out

Thank you for participating

May compassion be with you

This concludes the meditation

Be well
